This is Aine's first marathon; having always wanted to do one, she moved to London this year and thought it would be a great challenge to do it and to raise money for a good cause at the same time. As part of her training, Aine has done the Hampton Half in February and the Queen Elizabeth 10k's in January and February as well as a number of 10k runs.
Aine has a training plan in place and is trying her best to stick to it. Joining a running club to run with others has helped keep the motivation going and is so enthusiastic that she now runs to work, something she never imaged doing before. She says "I love it and puts such a fantastic start on my day." Aine would love to cross the line in under 4 hours.
On the day, Aine's parents will be there to support her, having travelled all the way from Dublin as well as friends from work and cousins living in London. Her boyfriend's parents are also coming down from Wales and she really appreciates the effort that everyone is making to support her.
Aine held a St Patrick's Day celebration with Irish Food, "green drinks" and traditional music with Irish dancing as part of her Marathon fundraising campaign! We hope it went well!
The National Eczema Society is Aine's chosen charity because she knows a number of people with eczema and has seen first hand how it affects people both physically and mentally.
Show your support from Aine by making a donation, no matter the size; all contributions are very welcome!
