Christmas came early at Birmingham Children’s Hospital last December when the dermatology department organised a fancy dress party for children with eczema.
The hospital’s Education Centre was the venue for pirates, princesses and even Spiderman dropped in for the food, party games and face painting. It proved a popular event for the children with Dermatology nurse Sheila Roberts in charge of pass-the-parcel and musical statues.
As a result of the party and positive feedback from parents, the Hospital decided to re-establish their ‘kids with eczema’ support group. The first support group meeting in 2009 is pencilled in for 21st February with further dates scheduled for 9th May, 15th August and 21st November at the Hospital’s Education Centre from 10am to midday.
