With a plethora of half marathons and long distance runs, including 10 Marathons, Pete is our "experienced" runner for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2017.
Previous experience tells him that it's a great incentive having the crowd shout your name, especially in the latter stages, so he's having his National Eczema Society name printed with the name "Chadders"
Training has gone well thus far, with a number of 13, 14 and 15 mile distances and Pete is feeling in good shape for the last bit of training up to the big day on Sunday, April 23 2017. His best time for a Marathon so far is 4 hours 6 minutes, so if he says if he could beat that he'd be "over the moon", although he also says "age catches up".
Pete's inspiration comes from his mother-in-law who suffers from eczema, so thinks it is great that he can raise some much-needed funds for a cause close to the family. His wife will be there with some friends on the day for support, stationing themselves and various points around the course, before hopefully making it to the finish. Pete's two daughters (1 and 3) will be supporting from home with their Nan on the day.
Please show your support for Pete by making a donation, no matter how large or small, to allow us to continue to support the millions of people in the UK living with the day to day challenge of eczema. As well as his Justgiving fundraising page which you can find here, Pete has printed sponsor forms which he takes with him wherever he goes and his wife bakes splendid cakes so for the next few months colleagues will be making contributions for them, rather than getting them for free. And his mother-in-law who is a teacher, will be fundraising in her primary school too.
