National Eczema Society is operated and managed by a small staff team, which includes experienced dermatology nurse specialists. Andrew Proctor is the charity’s Chief Executive.
The Society’s strategic direction is set by our Council of Trustees, who all volunteer their time to ensure we achieve our charitable objectives and uphold the charity’s values. Trustees usually serve terms of three or six years, and new Trustees are appointed following of an open competitive recruitment process. Above all, we look for people who are passionate about making life better for people with eczema and can bring both their professional skills and personal experience of eczema.
Our multidisciplinary Medical Advisory Board of dermatology healthcare professionals act in an advisory and ambassadorial capacity for the charity. The Board advises on clinical and research matters, supports operational activity and informs our strategic development.
Alongside our staff, Trustees and Medical Advisory Board, the Society benefits hugely from the engagement and support of members and volunteers who fundraise, campaign, raise awareness and share their lived experience on the Society’s behalf. We also rely heavily on healthcare professionals who give their time so selflessly to help the Society achieve its goal of making life better for people affected by eczema. We are so grateful to everyone who supports us in so many ways – we couldn’t do without you!
